So this is my first attempt is 'blogging' - we will certainly see how this goes! I don't have any intentions here other than to hopefully entertain, tell some silly stories, or just ramble about the lives of myself and my family.
About me: I am a recently divorced momma of 2 beautiful girls. They are my world. Their father did something he shouldn't have last year, and no wife should have to experience that, hence the divorce after 8 years of marriage. All the same, while he wasn't the greatest husband and took me for granted (I feel), he is still a good daddy to our girls. We (the ex) and I have been on speaking terms again and things are going okay. All I can say is I will see how things go. I have come to realize that maybe, just maybe, he didn't do something all that bad, but at the same time, when one has had it happen to them before, they are not inclined to allow that behavior any further. To sum it up, he got mad at me one night and pushed - no shoved - me, leaving marks on my arm, scars on my knee and ankle, and a scratch on my head as well. He blames me falling because of drinking, but when a 200-lb guy pushes a 115-lb girl, she's gonna go tumbling! Needlesstosay, that is in the past and people do move on. They may forgive, but will never forget. I think that will be a downfall to he and I if there is any future, but it is something I have prepared myself for and deal with it if/when it does occur. I personally enjoyed being on my own last summer with my girls. We had fun. Things were more relaxed and me and the girls grew closer.
I grew up here in Omaha and I am still in Omaha. I sometimes feel like I will never leave this place, all the while my parents are trying to get us to move closer to them. I don't quite know how I feel about leaving a place that I've known all my life and I know like the back of my hand.
As for my day job, I work as a legal assistant/paralegal (still trying to figure out my 'title') for a crabby old jewish man. I am serious. Well, he's not as crabby as he seemingly used to be, but he has his days, as we all do. I love my job. I get paid well to do hardly anything except enter his time and do a few letters or memos here and there. Who could ask for anything more!? It is just the boss and I in his business. We are in an office with another attorney who has 2 legal assistants of his own. You will hear much about both of them as they are all I know during the day. The things that happen in this office just baffle me!Anyhoo, that's a short summary of my background. I will have to post more later! 'Til then.....
